Anticipating Two Films–CESAR CHAVEZ & NOAH

You’ve probably hear more about NOAH, but the film that I’m anticipating the most that’s to be released at the end of this month is CESAR CHAVEZ.

Based on the life of the activist head of the United Farm Works Cesar Chavez, I think this will be of more interested to those engaged in social justice and peacemaking issue. Michael Pena stars in it. Some of the advanced word on the film is pretty critical, but I hope the good will outweight its faults.

In the meantime, most pess attention is being paid to NOAH, which seems to be another bloated literal approach to the Bible, with Russell Crowe as the ark builder. We’ll see: the fact that Darren Aronofsky is director gives me some hope. You might recall that he directed The Black Swan.
