What are spiritual gifts beyond the Sinner’s Prayer?
For many, many years the emphasis of evangelism has been to “save souls for eternity.” Which is great, don’t get me wrong. But if the whole point is only to change what happens after we die no wonder people put off until tomorrow something that won’t benefit them until much, much later.

However, a Great Big Very Important Point has been overlooked. The point of salvation is to make life better here and now. To that end God gives spiritual gifts to his children, gifts like prayer, healing, discernment and knowledge. If that sounds a little supernatural—well it is. God’s love for us is the definition of supernatural.
These gifts can be hard to describe to residents of a post-Darwinian world where everything is quantifiable.
